Before your appointment

  • Make contact with the practice via phone.
  • You will be sent key information about your appointment
  • You will be sent a new medical history form, Covid-19 consent form and your FP17 form
  • Our receptionist will call you the day before your appointment to take payment over the phone and ask a series of Covid-19 questions

On the day of your appointment

  • Before you leave for the practice please ensure you have visited the lavatory, have hydrated and brushed your teeth.
  • When attending your appointment please only bring essential items into the practice.
  • Please attend your appointment alone, if possible
  • Please call the practice when you arrive. Please remain in your car or outside the practice, following social distancing rules.
  • The practice door will be locked until your appointment is ready to begin.

Entering the practice

  • We will call you when it’s time to enter the practice, you will be met by one of our nurses at the front door who will be wearing full personal protective equipment
  • Before you enter we will need to take your temperature
  • On entering the practice you will be asked to sanitise your hands
  • There will be no patients in the reception and you will be guided straight into the treatment room
  • We will also have distancing markers on the floors to ensure a safe distance is maintained

 

Before you appointment

To ensure that we have all of your information easily to hand, we will email you all the information prior to your appointment – including confirmation of your appointment, who you will be seeing, what treatment you will be having and the cost. We will take payment over the phone the day before your appointment. You will also be sent a new medical history, Covid -19 patient consent and FP17 form. These will be sent and completed digitally. Please do not print them out.

Our receptionist will call you the day before your appointment to ask if a series of questions regarding Covid-19 symptoms to ensure that you are safe to come in for your appointment.

 

Treatment room

  • Before you enter the surgery you will be asked to leave any extra belongings, such as your bag in a box provided
  • On entering the treatment room you will be asked to wash your hands with soap and water for 20 second and again once your appointment has ended.
  • You will be asked to rinse with mouth was for 1 minute
  • The dentist and clean nurse will be wearing full PPE
  • All treatment rooms are disinfected and cleaned in between each patient

 

 

On the day of your appointment

Please ensure that you have already visited the lavatory and are well hydrated. Please only bring essential items into the practice and where possible attend your appointment alone unless you require assistance, supporting a child or someone vulnerable.

When you arrive, the doors will be locked. Please stay in your car or outside the practice, whilst maintaining social distancing and call to let us know that you have arrived.

If you do not have a mobile phone please inform the receptionist when booking appointment and we will make alternative arrangements.

 

Entering the practice

When it is time for your appointment our nurse will open the practice door, she will be wearing full personal protective equipment. Before entering you will have your  temperature taken to ensure you do not have a fever, if you do not have a fever and your temperature is below 37.8 degrees centigrade it will be safe for you to enter the practice. Unfortunately, if you are above 37.8 degrees you will have to go home and follow the government guidelines. The practice will call you to rearrange your appointment.

Once you have been invited into the practice our nurse will ask you to sanitise your hands. There will be no patients waiting in the reception area and you will be guided to the appropriate treatment room, following social distancing of 2 meters.

Treatment

Before you enter the treatment room you will need to leave any loose belongings like bag, jacket into the box provided. When you enter the room your dentist and nurse will be wearing full personal protective equipment in order to provide the right care and service, they cannot adhere to social distancing measures. You will be asked to wash your hands for 20 seconds and rinse with mouth wash for one minute prior to treatment.

Each treatment room will be carefully cleaned and disinfected after each patient.

After treatment

When your treatment is complete you will be asked to wash your hands and collect your belongings from the box outside of the treatment room. Before you leave our nurse will ask you to sanitise your hands one last time, you will exit out of the back door.

If further treatment is needed we will contact you and arrange over the phone.

If you have any symptoms of Covid- 19 between booking your appointment and the time of your appointment, please let us know as soon as you can.
